"Never place a period where God has |
|
Ever feel as though you are stuck? Frozen in fear or just in a rut? We are reminded in Exodus 14:15 that we need to keep moving forward. When the Israelites were stuck between Egypt (bondage) and the Red Sea (freedom) they began to cry out to God. They couldn't fathom a way out of this quagmire! As a matter of fact, the Israelites were so afraid of moving forward that they believed it was better to go back into bondage. "What have you done to us by bringing us out of Egypt...?" they said to Moses. "It would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the desert!" (Exodus 14:11b -12b NIV ) Sometimes it may seem easier to go back to the same ol' same ol'.
But don't be fooled, if nothing has changed in Egypt, you will find yourself in the same rut, in the same fear and as unhappy as ever. We are called to a higher purpose and moving toward that purpose has never been easy. We have to take our first step into the sea in order for the water to part and freedom to manifest. One step forward, that's all it takes to get us going. Then a next, then a next. And as we are walking on God's path for us, we can't allow the walls of fear and/or bondage to splash away our desire for freedom no matter how high they grow around us. Keep moving forward...keep taking those steps. God promises to be with us on the journey. Once we begin moving, each step reveals the freedom we've been waiting for.
Blessings!
